Question by tbo: Why are peoples nationalities usually asked when an individual does not appear arian white?
Why if a white individual appears Italian, Greek, french, hungarian, and so on folks ask immediatly what they are even though they are American? For example no one particular has ever stated the nationalities of Marilyn Monroe, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, george bush, Bill clinton, Pamela Anderson, Anna Nicole Smith, Jessica Simpson, I can go on.
The media says no mention of their ethnicity simply because they all look arian.
But if somebody seems Italian, eastern european, or hispanic they want to know appropriate away what nationality they are and the media can make a Massive deal about,, For example.. The media refrences Criss Angel as “the Greek “,, They also contact Jennifer Aniston ,, “the greek”,, also they get in touch with Jon Bon Jovi-”the italian”, or they get in touch with Cher “the armenian”… and also John Stamos “the greek,, also alyssa Milano,, “the italian”",, Also in politics they get in touch with Guilanni(the italian) however no mention of the other folks nationalities,,,, The media does not even ask them, I locate it offending considering that their all Americans,
If Kelly Clarkson was in jail, the media would be saying “the greek-american” but there is not a single word pointed out about paris hiltons ethnicity…is she irish, british, german? guess you are deemed a pure American if your one particular of people

People are fascinated by those beautiful, dark-haired, dark-skinned people. The others are just boring blondes.
I don’t know- good question
I’m not sure that the people you mention have a great problem with this…people tend to be proud of their distant heritage for some reason.
That’s namely whites sweetie. We don’t pay any attention to them anymore with their subtle, yet overt prejudices and stereotypes. Everyone is fed up with them and their need to ask “what race or nationality are you”?
I have that happen quite a bit. When they ask me I reply: “Just what nationality are you”? They look at me like “WHAT”…you know? I just look at them the same way they react. I ask if “they are from Germany or what is that Nazi country”? Then they begin getting defensive and I just say “Oh well, just forget it. What was I here for? Let’s stick to business and just business”. They don’t know what to make of me when I shut them down this way.
More folks should shut them down…they have deep seeded racist issues that need to be addressed every so often or as often as possible when they spread their discriminatory rhetoric. You know I mean? Put the same thing back on them. That’s the only way they’ll “get da pictcha”, eh?
IT WORKS! I’m tired of ‘em too, honey…exhausted even. Do unto them as they do unto you…they only learn or get knocked out (figuratively) when they continue to behave badly. Blah anymore to them…just Blah…
That guy above me who said you can tell, is full of BS, he said greeks have black hair, not true, greeks have red hair as well and blonde, You can’t tell.
Some people who are eastern european you can’t tell what they are at all. For example Jenna Jameson is Italian, she could pass for alot of things,, also Jennifer Aniston is Greek and can pass for alot of nationalities,,
They make a big deal about it because this country is racist.. Is George Bush British-American?
I dunno i guess if someone looks exotic they ask just so they don’t refer to them as the wrong thing. Like with Penelope cruz and Salma Hayek the press always get the twos nationality’s mixed up. Although i don’t really know why their ethnicity or nationality really matters unless it pertains to the subject.
Very nice!!
